John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado who was a specialist in folk-pop music that inspired millions of people. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and settled down in Aspen. Denver's popular songs about his adopted state encouraged many to move to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared that John Denver is the only artist to represent Colorado. Denver was the first Hall of Fame ever inductee. Denver is viewed as the embodiment of Colorado by people across the world. It is a fact that when I travel you come across someone from another part of the globe, someone from New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the first word that comes you hear is Oh John Denver! Brown admitted. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist following a brief stint in smaller folk bands was Take Me Home Country Roads co-written with Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the song using Johnny Cash in mind but when Denver heard an early version it was clear that the track could become one of the top hits. After performing the song on stage in Washington D.C. to a huge crowd, the singer released the song a couple of days later.
