Whitney Houston and Dana Bash
Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born on August 9th, 1963 at Newark New Jersey. She is the child of the gospel music legend Cissy Houston(nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. Whitney Elizabeth Houston's cousin Dionne Warswick is also a singer. Whitney's mother and her began singing professionally at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark in the year Whitney was just fifteen years old. They sang backing vocals for Chaka Kans' hit song from 1978 Im Every Woman. The singer went on to sing backing vocals for Jermaine Jackson, Lou Rawls and her own mother and was briefly a model appearing on the cover of Seventeen magazine in the year 1981. In 1981, she began to work as a vocalist with the New York-based funk group Material. It was her excellent vocals that caught interest of recording label such as Arista. In 1985, the debut of Whitney Houston turned out to be the best-selling debut album of all time. A number of songs from the album were hit, including The Greatest Love of All and Saving All My Love. The album was sold to three million people in the first year as well as 25 million around the world. The album won her first six Grammys. The Whitney 1987 release, which included Where Do Broken Hearts and I Wanna Dance With Somebody as hits, helped build upon the success she had achieved. However, it came with The Bodyguard 1992 which cemented her standing as one of the top artists around the globe. While her performance in the film and soundtrack were not well-received however, their Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You and its album that accompanied it dominated the charts for singles and albums throughout the world for a period of months. The album sold over 44 million copies. The same year that she had her daughter Bobbi Brown, she got married to Bobby Brown of the ex-New Edition group. At this point the drug use was well-documented and she started using it daily in 1996.
Dana Bash or Dana Ruth Schwartz as she's more commonly known, is an American journalist and political analyst for CNN. Her Saturday shows comprise Evans & Novak Late Edition, Inside Politics and Inside Politics. Bash has also worked for other well-known networks over the past few years such as NBC and CBS. Bash is a recipient of many honors and awards. Elle magazine once listed Bash on its Women in Washington Power List.
